ARA-290, also known as cibinetide and helix B surface peptide (HBSP), is an 11–amino acid chain derived from the beta domain of erythropoietin (EPO). Unlike full EPO, which primarily stimulates red blood cell production, ARA-290 10mg was developed to investigate tissue regeneration, repair, and anti-inflammatory activity without hematopoietic effects.
ARA-290 10mg is thought to act on the tissue-protective receptor (TPR), also called the innate repair receptor (IRR), a complex of CD131 and part of the EPO receptor. By binding to this receptor, ARA-290 10mg may initiate regenerative and anti-nociceptive pathways without promoting erythropoiesis.
Researchers suggest it may modulate pain signaling, inflammation, and cellular repair processes.
Studies indicate ARA-290 10mg may attenuate nerve pain (allodynia) by modulating TRPV1 channels, reducing sensitivity to capsaicin-induced activation in murine models.
Experimental findings suggest ARA-290 10mg may lower pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α) and influence microglial activity in models of retinal ischemia.
Research indicates potential protection of endothelial cells and enhanced vascular repair capacity when paired with endothelial colony-forming cells (ECFCs) in ischemic retinopathy models.
Preclinical research has explored ARA-290 10mg in multiple areas:
